Profile: Freya

This is my very first OC from what... 10 years ago? I wrote her in an RP I used to run on an old Zelda forum. She's made a huge comeback since back then. You see, I lost contact with a close friend with whom I knew and RP'd with for years, but recently, after maybe 4 years or so of no contact, we've found each other again. She reminded me of this character by sending me a scan of an old picture I drew her, of our two OCs. It was really emotional for me. This friend of mine is like a sister and I hold her very close to my heart. Even now, after 4 years of silence, we're communicating like no time was lost at all.
It's actually so bittersweet, because when we met while I was on vacation, I took several photos of us. However, that year one of my flatmates (this is what I believe anyway, I have no idea which one) stole my digital camera and, I assume, sold it. I lost all my special photos, not just of my friend and I, but of my family as well.

However, now's not the time to cry over spilled milk. Look forward with eager eyes and a spring in your step.

Personality:
Freya is a slightly serious young woman. She likes to focus on her work and progress with plans and schedules. However, she does enjoy letting go every now and then and is prone to being a little spontaneous - providing it won't interfere with her higher priorities. She has a rather obscure sense of humour, enjoying and expressing herself in satire, irony and occasional sarcasm. She rarely appreciates silliness but when she does, and when it pushes the right buttons, she can laugh until tears run down her face.
Freya is not very open towards strangers, however she still remains friendly and helpful, fitting for her occupation. Manners are very important to her, as is respect and mutual understanding, and she will always strive to ensure her surroundings are peaceful. She is very easily impressed and made happy by affectionate gestures or receiving gifts, and enjoys gifting things to those close to her.
She is also quite an empathic soul, and can figure out people from their emotional display. She can be quite good at giving advice on matters of the heart (even if at times it is rather direct), although strangely enough, she isn't very good at judging her own situations. This can result in her being careless or irrational at times, though she tries to learn from each mistake.

Appearance:
Freya stands at 5'5", average weight and feminine build. Her skin is light blue, although her lips are of standard pinkish colour. She has a somewhat round face, with large, dark eyes like those of the Zora, and cloven ears. Her hair is auburn and long, reaching the mid section of her back. She has small heterocercal fins beginning at her wrists, stretching half way along her forearm or so, and three very thin gill-like slits under each ear at the base of her jaw. Otherwise, she has a relatively human appearance.

Biography:
Freya is half-Zora, half-Terminian, thus making her a crossbreed. She grew up in Clock Town, being raised by Anju's mother. According to her, Freya was entrusted to her by the Town Guard after she was found as a baby outside the Mayor's door, however the two never really connected on a sentimental level. Freya grew up alongside Anju, although with Anju being significantly older, the both of them have a relationship more like mother and daughter as opposed to sister and sister.
Although Freya's parents are unknown, it is believed they are both still alive. In fact, Freya occasionally gets letters from someone who claims to be her mother. These letters used to give her false hope as a child, but due to them leading to nothing, she has become pretty jaded and sometimes wouldn't even open a new letter for weeks after its arrival. Now, she hasn't opened a letter in years. Despite this, she would very much like to know the identity of her parents.
Freya's half-Zora breeding hasn't really given her much trouble - she was not bullied for anything in particular and the townsfolk seem to be reasonably adjusted to her. Yet this doesn't stop her feeling self-conscious, and she tries not to draw attention to her features. This includes the small fin-like formations on her forearms, which she covers with a puffy-sleeved shirt. Anju insists that she stops this habit, but Freya finds it hard to feel comfortable in her own skin.
Despite the genetic affinity to water that Freya should possess, she isn't a very strong swimmer and usually feels more comfortable within the confines of an urban structure such as Clock Town. She enjoys being around new places all the same, and is open to visiting new locations.

Physical differences/notes:
Freya's breeding has given her some odd physical attributes, along with her blue skin and cloven ears. As previously noted, she has small, thin fin-like extensions on her forearms protruding from her wrists and extending half way to her elbow, remnants of the full fins that members of the Zora race have. She also has two sets of eyelids, the inner set being nictitating membranes, meaning they close side-ways on and cover her eyes with a paler, opaque layer. They activate upon reflex, including contact with water, during sleep or upon pain response. The outer set are as normal.
She can also, to an extent, thrive underwater. However, her Terminian needs also take effect, and staying submerged for too long can cause her to feel sickly and disoriented.
Due to Zora's low tolerance to alcohol, Freya too is quite the lightweight and prefers to avoid beverages as such.
